A Kagoshima International Association (KIA) Sponsored Project:4 night, 5 day Cultural Tour to Jeollabuk-do (North Jeolla) in Korea for only ¥32,000

Since agreeing to promote and strengthen its cooperative ties with Kagoshima in October 1989, Jeollabuk-do has continually strived to improve its relationship with Kagoshima through number of areas including government initiatives, youth and women’s groups and cultural and sports events.

Jeollabuk-do has a rich food culture and is the birthplace of the famous Korean dish ‘Bibimbap’. Jeollabuk-do also has an abundance of natural landscapes and traditional culture and has been receiving a lot of attention recently as one of the central areas of the Baekje kingdom due to the discovery of a number of Baekje artifacts.

As a symbol of cooperation and courtesy between the two areas, the local authorities in Jeollabuk-do and KIA have organized the above tour with the hopes that it will not only strengthen the ties between the people of Jeollabuk-do and Kagoshima , but also that it will introduce the citizens from Kagoshima to everything that Jeollabuk-do has to offer.

The number of participants is limited to 10 although it is a not a prerequisite when you apply that you speak Korean. In the event that there is more than 10 applications, successful applicants will be chosen at random. Staff from the KIA will also be present on the tour as will a number of fulltime interpreters.
(N.B. All travel, accommodation and food costs in Jeollabuk-do will be covered by the local authorities.)
